Generalized forms and their applications
The calculus of generalized p-forms,−1 p n, is developed further. On an n-dimensional manifold with metric, M, a (Hodge) star operator, inner product, co-differential and Laplacian operators are introduced. The inner product and Lie derivative with respect to vector fields on M are defined. Applications are made to Hamiltonian mechanics, field theories and Einstein’s vacuum equations. PACS numb...
متن کاملElliptic Modular Forms and Their Applications
Foreword These notes give a brief introduction to a number of topics in the classical theory of modular forms. Some of theses topics are (planned) to be treated in much more detail in a book, currently in preparation, based on various courses held at the Collège de France in the years 2000–2004. Here each topic is treated with the minimum of detail needed to convey the main idea, and longer pro...
متن کاملApplications of quadratic D-forms to generalized quadratic forms
In this paper, we study generalized quadratic forms over a division algebra with involution of the first kind in characteristic two. For this, we associate to every generalized quadratic from a quadratic form on its underlying vector space. It is shown that this form determines the isotropy behavior and the isometry class of generalized quadratic forms.
متن کاملGeneralized Transvectants and Siegel Modular Forms
We introduce a differential operator invariant under the special linear group SL(2n, C), and, as a consequence, the symplectic group Sp(2n, C). Connections with generalized Rankin–Cohen brackets for Siegel modular forms of genus n are sketched.
متن کاملModular forms and generalized anomaly cancellation formulas
0. Introduction In [1], gravitational anomaly cancellation formulas are derived from direct computations. In particular, in dimension 12, the Alvarez-Gaumé and Witten ‘‘miraculous cancellation’’ formula can be written as {L(TX, ∇TX )}(12) = {8A(TX, ∇TX )ch(TCX, ∇TCX )}(12) − 32{A(TX, ∇TX )}(12), (0.1) where X is a twelve-dimensional Riemannian manifold, ∇TX is the associated Levi-Civita conn...
